Maintenance Recommendations / Re: Convertible Top Installation
« Last post by John.06 on April 03, 2019, 01:05:37 pm »
They did my '06.  I have mixed views.  I chose an Ez-on top at James' recommendation.  It looks great, but has loose threads hanging off inside and a couple of wrinkles.  The top rumbles at high speed.  Order a different brand.  After the replacement, the passenger floor collects water after/during a rain and they can't seem to figure out why and the top drips on my knee.  They may have fixed that.  The owner and the tech told me different stories about what was done to fix the passenger side leak.  We'll see if they did anything.  They are overwhelmed with work and just want to get stuff out the door.  They kept my car 4 weeks and told me the day I picked it up they had 38 cars in and had called some owners to come take them back.

General Discussion / Mountain Miatas (Knoxville) Wants to Ride With Us
« Last post by Eric.Smith on April 02, 2019, 08:21:12 pm »
Randy Adkins of Mountain Miatas, the Knoxville club, sent me an email. They would like to come to Chattanooga and join one of our rides. So, which ride would be good for that? Please check our ride dates on the calendar here on the forum and leave your thoughts in a reply.

Runs, Roads & Routes / Cherohala Skyway to Tail of the Dragon
« Last post by SCMAdmin1 on March 22, 2019, 10:52:49 am »
Cherohala Skyway to Tail of the Dragon
https://goo.gl/maps/tt2xD11vsmz

Points of Interest
Tellico Grainery Bakery
Bald River Falls
Multiple Scenic pull-offs
Joyce Kilmer Forrest
Tail of the Dragon

This is an all day drive.

This drive begins at the northern end of Etowah, TN as you turn right off of Hwy 411 onto Hwy 310 (Mecca Pike). As you proceed to Tellico Plains, follow navigation to the Tellico Plains Grainery for a nice brunch, lunch or snack.  Pastries and sandwiches are very good.

Then proceed to the Cherohala Skyway to head towards Bald River Falls. You will turn right onto Turkey Creek Rd, then left onto River Rd. As you drive along the River, the scenery is excellent. The road will drive across the foot of the falls.  Parking is just past the falls.

Return to the parkway and head east. Enjoy the views from several parking areas along the way.  Eventually, you will turn left onto Santeetlah Rd, then take a right onto Joyce Kilmer Rd.  This is a beautiful forrest drive that takes you to Hwy 129.  A stop at the Joyce Kilmer Forrest will not disappoint. This is virgin timber and the trees are unusually large for this part of the country.

At the end of Joyce Kilmer Rd, take a left. Hwy 129 is shortly thereafter, turn left onto Hwy 129. Remain on Hwy 129 as you twist through the Tail of the Dragon.  Shortly after Dragon Pit BBQ, turn left onto Hwy 72 to return to Hwy 411.
