Hi everyone, my 2003 teal green Miata has a clear coat that has peeled off. Alas, time to get her repainted . Does anyone have a paint person they would recommend? I'm not asking for someone to work for cheap... there are some minor dents and dings to be filled or popped out. I know these things take time. I'm not looking for concours, but longevity of the paint job is important to me, as I intend to keep the car forever. Maybe bury it with me? No, I guess I'll will it to someone . Also, my interior is "Bake-You-Black", and I would like to change it to maybe tan. I need seat covers and carpet etc. Any recommendations out there, good people? I live in Nashville but also have a little apartment at the foot of Lookout Mountain so I can hang out at the Hang Gliding flightpark, so I'm in Chattanooga often. In general, it is much easier to find craftsmen in Chattanooga than it is in Nashville. Anyway, my cell phone is 615-207-9071 if you want to call or text anytime, or you can email chad@chadmay.com also. Thank you all and I hope you are getting your Vitamin D on your topless drives . - Chad May

Hey guys! Had to make an update to the meeting time for the Wooden's Apple House run due to a misunderstanding on my part as to when Wooden's opens on Sunday. We will be leaving at 12:30 PM instead of 10:00 AM as scheduled previously. Terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our members.

For our first Monthly Meeting in-person since May, we were able to review the information that was posted and discussed from our virtual meetings and also plan an upcoming run to Wooden's Apple House. In our meeting, the following was announced: We will have magnets prepared and ready for sale by our November 2020 Monthly Meeting. The first batch of magnets will be oval shaped and intended for the front quarter panels of our cars. They will feature the new logo and be black/white. Pricing will not be determined until production has been completed so please stand-by for pricing. Starting in November, our logo will be updated through Apparel Embroidery Inc. at 6121-B, Heritage Park Dr, Chattanooga. This will allow our members to take any piece of apparel and have our official logo embroidered onto it for a flat $10 dollar fee. Any color is available and a logo featuring a white background is available for darker colored apparel. Examples will be brought to our November Monthly Meeting. FRS Handheld Radios will be used on all of our further club runs and it will be expected of our members to bring one if they plan to be involved with our run. These radios can be purchased at Walmart, Amazon, of the following links below. www.amazon.com/dp/B07P4PSTLLwww.amazon.com/dp/B019RIOZVKwww.amazon.com/dp/B01DM7AESKwww.amazon.com/dp/B00SLHM0PCLastly, we decided to have a run to one of our favorite spots, Oren Wooden's Apple House. This location has a great variety of Apple themed products and a cafe with some great apple based foods. Our club members always find this one to be a hit. We will meet at 12:30 PM on Sunday Oct. 25th at 8530 Hixson Pike, Hixson. This is the northern most Food City on Hixson Pike. The Food City at the crossroads of Dallas Daisy Rd and Hixson Pike to be specific. We will look forward to our November Monthly Meeting being in-person as well, but I'm currently in the works as for a new location. The date will always be the same, 3rd Tuesday of the month, November 17th.

Austin here coming with another virtual Monthly Meeting to catch you guys up on everything that has happened last month and where we will be going for next month. Lets get started by thanking everyone who was involved with our impromptu run last month. We had a great day trip through the mountains of Georgia with some great apple themed stops along the way. This trip was a great trial run for utilizing FRS radios in our runs and we had great feedback from our riders. More on that below! While we have had many virtual events this summer, we are starting to see an ease in cases that are allowing us to host in-person meetings once again! For October's meeting we will have our first socially-distanced, outdoor Monthly Meeting. This event will take place on Tuesday October 20th at 6:00pm. The sun is going to be setting at 7 that evening so we need to have our meeting start a little earlier than normal. The location will be on the Tennessee Riverwalk at the Hubert Fry Center pavilion. This meeting will not have food served but we urge our members to bring your own food to enjoy. Please also bring a folding chair to ensure we have enough seating for everyone. There are plenty of tables at the park so folding chairs shouldn't be necessary, but we still want to be sure just in case. Donations for our banner can also be made at this event. If a rain date is needed, a clear day will be picked from that week, for the same time. Tuesday October 20, at 6:00pm at Hubert Fry Center Pavillion, Tennessee RiverPark, 4301 Amnicola Hwy, Chattanooga, TN 37406 Bring you own food, chair and a costume if you would like! As mentioned previously, we had a run with FRS radios and the response was overwhelmingly positive. With this in mind, we will be implementing FRS radios into all of our future drives. These radios are inexpensive and act as walkie-talkies for everyone while on the ride. This will help if someone gets lost, someone sees a hazard in the road, or someone even has some facts about our scenery that we pass. These radios may not be required for all events, but will be strongly utilized for all events for those who have them. Any radio that is compatible with Family Radio Service (FRS) channels will work with our radios. A couple examples of FRS radios have been linked below: www.amazon.com/dp/B07P4PSTLLwww.amazon.com/dp/B019RIOZVKwww.amazon.com/dp/B01DM7AESKwww.amazon.com/dp/B00SLHM0PCwww.walmart.com/ip/Motorola-Talkabout-T100-FRS-GMRS-2-Way-Radios-2-Pack/50877944Lastly, we have had great discussions about the implementing insurance into our group and after many months of different options we have come to the conclusion of a SCM Liability Release. Starting August 1st, 2020 all members who wish to partake in a ride with our club will have to sign a single page release form. This is a single time form and will be signed by both driver and rider. These forms will be distributed at each event for those who have not signed previously. Those who will not sign this form will not be allowed to ride with our club. This is the easiest and least expensive way for our club and members to release liability without insurance. That would be all that I have for this monthly meeting! I hope to see you all at our next meeting in October! Keep on the lookout for any other events between now and then!

First ran this route in September 2020. The route starts at True Value Hardware on East Brainerd Rd. Many Country backroads are traveled to Chatsworth, Ga where we take a break before proceeding over Fort Mountain for some excellent twisties. The route ends at Panorama Farm Market, an excellent apple, peach and more venue. Below, is a pdf download with step by step directions.

We ran this as a Sunday drive in June 2020. It was a big hit with 15 cars. The route begins at Walmart 9334 Dayton Pike. It runs a loop over and back on Mowbray Mtn, then proceeds up Signal Mtn for some very nice views. The route includes a few nice curves and switchbacks as well.
