This is a thread I posted on Miata.net of a successful battery upgrade (so far).  It took 23 lbs off the front axle and you can actually feel it in the steering response.  Because of their chemistry, these batteries produce enormous cranking amps for their A-Hr rating (capacity).  But because of the low A-Hr rating you cannot sit at the drive-in and forget to turn off the headlights!

I will be glad to help anyone with this change.  If I had to replace this battery, I would probably go one size larger to get more capacity.
